Gambling Support Group

This is a weekly service that is available during the day or evening at our two larger community offices, Oshawa (daytime) and Ajax (evenings). This program is suitable for anyone experiencing concerns regarding their involvement in gambling. Individuals may be at different stages in their relationship with gambling. Some clients are considering the need for change while others may have already decided to do so. This program provides participants with an opportunity to assess their gambling, identify appropriate goals, and utilize group support to initiate and maintain changes.

Problem Gambling Family Members Group

Problem gambling can often have significant negative impacts on the family. Financial stresses, loss of trust, anxiety, feelings of isolation and anger are some of the common effects experienced by family members. This group provides a setting to discuss any personal difficulties regarding a family member's involvement in gambling. Throughout the course of 6 sessions, partners and family members receive education about gambling, learn how to cope and minimize it's negative effects and identify "solutions" to try and effectively deal with their current circumstances.
