Helping strong women achieve a healthy lifestyle

Destiny Manor was founded in 1980 and amalgamated with Pinewood Centre in 1999, enhancing the broad spectrum of services now available for women.

We offer both residential and day treatment options for women aged 16 years and over with substance abuse issues.

Pinewood Centre provides a continuum of care to meet the unique needs of women. In a supportive and caring environment, women learn specific skills that will strengthen their ability to achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

This is a highly structured holistic program designed to involve clients in their treatment goals and coping strategies. The program offers women individual counseling and group therapy through a variety of treatment approaches (education, discussion, creative expression, psychodrama, etc).

The majority of women attending the program are striving for abstinence, but harm reduction goals are also accepted.

Residential Option

This 21-day program offers women a safe residence while working towards their treatment goals. Private bedrooms and in-room vanities provide personal space.

Day Option

This is offered to women within commuting distance. This program runs from Monday to Friday for 15 consecutive days. Women also have the opportunity to attend evening and weekend programming.

Aftercare Planning/Follow-up Support

Clients are provided with support and assistance in their ongoing progress through:

• referral to a supportive network in the client's community

• in-house self-help groups

• 24-hour telephone support (905) 668-1858 or toll free 1-800-825-6325

• community treatment services

• Client follow-up is conducted at 3 months, 6 months and one year.

Referrals

Referrals to Destiny Manor are accepted from all sources and locales. Self-referral is encouraged. Upon completion of the initial referral/intake process, clients will be asked to complete their Assessment at one of our Pinewood offices or the Addictions Assessment Service within their home community.
