Interact is a Community Mental Health Program that provides a range of specialized psychotherapeutic services to clients with mental health concerns. Interact’s philosophy is based on the belief that all people have the right to access a confidential, community based mental health service providing group therapeutic interventions for coping and adapting to life difficulties. Interact is staffed by a multidisciplinary team representing Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy and Nursing. Interact is designed to provide short-term (3-6 months) group psychotherapy programs and limited individual therapy as an alternative or an adjunct to group therapy. Interact’s specialized programs include men’s and women’s anger management groups, self esteem groups and relaxation training. By providing programs in the evening, Interact promotes clients returning to employment and/or staying in employment while they continue to work on their issues.
